What a wild party Geeks versus Nerds throws! They were at Hal-Con this year to discuss Green Lantern Corp vs Jedi Order and it was clear from the onset this event was for adults only!
Just listen to their Content Warning for the Show song but only listen/watch it if you are not easily offended.
We sat the Geeks side of the room which was fine with me.
We were on the Green Lantern Corps side of the room and heard how they were better than Jedis because their super powers did not come from a disease. That Jedis are hippies and that Jesus was a Jedi. OK, that one shocked me! I loved it. They finished with the fact that their philosophy is as complicated as fortune cookie wisdom.
Of course the nerds argued that the Green Lantern Corp was really a militant group and their weakness to the colour yellow makes them targets for Big Bird.
Things really got heated when the name "Darth Vader" showed up and the fact that all the Jedis were killed by the one that had gone rogue.
Arguing that Jedis are as effective as Shaolin monks now performing tricks for audiences tipped the scales. It was a very close debate won by applause and cheers but in the end...
The geeks won the war agains the Jedi Order. Talk about a total geek fest with lots of inappropriate behaviour, spraying of Nerf gun bullets and a deep dark look at what makes a good team of superheroes.
Makes me wish I had been able to go to the Gotham versus Sunnydale debate: arguing which place is more dangerous? The world of Joss Whedon needed my help with cheering for the side that has a Hellmouth & copious amounts of demons.
What totally geek/nerd fun!
